The Steve Cohen era is officially underway in Queens!
The Mets have agreed to a contract (pending physical) with right hander Trevor May.
UPDATE:
Trevor May’s 2-year deal with the Mets is for about $15M

There are many Met fans who would have preferred a different Trevor (Bauer), but this is a big signing which will bolster the Mets’ bullpen.
Sure, the Mets still need a center fielder, catcher, starting pitching help and maybe a third baseman, but we know the bullpen needed attention too.
May pitched to a 3.86 ERA and a 1.16 WHIP over 24 appearances in 2020.
His strikeout numbers were off the charts, posting a 14.66 K/9 last season!
May has posted a 3.18 ERA and 1.09 WHIP since returning from Tommy John surgery in 2018.
Not bad!
Now, let’s move Seth Lugo back to the pen and give Robert Gsellman his walking papers!
Stroman and May. That’s a good start.
I’m excited. How about you?
