Matt Adams is no longer a Met.
According to manager Luis Rojas, Adams has decided to opt out of his contract with the Mets.
The 31 year old first baseman is now a free agent.
Adams had two hits for the Mets this spring in 14 at bats with a walk and two RBI.
Not a huge loss here, but I thought it would be nice to have him as a bench option. I’d imagine he’ll find a job elsewhere pretty quickly.
