Yoenis Cespedes Fractures His Ankle

What did we, as Met fans, ever do to deserve this?

We just published an article a few minutes ago about Seth Lugo landing on the Injured List. We pressed send and tried to talk ourselves into Wilmer Font somehow giving the Mets a good start tonight. Before the daydreaming could begin, we received some news about Yoenis Cespedes.

He has fractured his ankle after an accident at his ranch.

They say no news is good news, but Met fans were desperate for any type of Cespedes update after his offseason heel injury. Well, it’s safe to say this is the last thing we wanted to hear.

That is all the information available at this time. Ranch. Accident. Maybe he was riding a horse?

We don’t know. What we do know is that we will not see Cespedes on a field in 2019.

You can’t make this up. Seriously. There is not a Met fan on this earth who is creative enough to come up with these storylines we deal with year in and year out.

On the bright side, we won’t need to hear how Cespedes will be our mid-season acquistion from Brodie.

Unreal. Ya gotta believe.
