Last night, some disturbing allegations came to light.
In 2016, Jared Porter sent explicit texts to a female reporter. The reporter ignored SIXTY TWO of these texts before he finally sent a picture of an erect penis.

Porter confirmed that the claims were true. Team president, Sandy Alderson released this statement on behalf of the Mets last night. 
This morning, Porter was fired.
Yes, the Mets have hired managers and general managers in back-to-back years who have been fired before the season started.
We have terminated Jared Porter this morning . In my initial press conference I spoke about the importance of integrity and I meant it.There should be zero tolerance for this type of behavior.

Do NOT be one of these people floating around social media.
It doesn’t matter that he apologized. It doesn’t matter that she answered his texts at one point.
SIXTY TWO unanswered text messages in a row? That is INSANE behavior. This woman had to HIDE from him at her PLACE OF WORK. She ultimately left the profession!
The Mets need a new GM. That will ultimately work itself out. In the meantime, the Mets have removed this predator from the organization. That should be his last job in baseball.
