Brandon Nimmo was originally penciled in as the Mets’ center fielder today.
Shortly before first pitch, the Mets scratched Nimmo, inserting Ryan Cordell in the vacated spot.
The Mets say Brandon Nimmo was scratched because the team cardiologist suggested additional cardiac screening. The Mets completed that testing today.

Well.
Listen. This isn’t something we are going to speculate about. We’ll pass along any information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: Luis Rojas said Brandon Nimmo’s removal from the game was “all precautionary.” The manager doesn’t think it’s something to be overly concerned about but the Mets wanted to take care of it.
