The Mets made a couple of moves today.
First things first, the Mets have released Sam Haggerty. After being acquired last winter from Cleveland in the Kevin Plawecki trade, the utility player had 4 at bats with the big club last September.
Additionally, the Mets made an acquisition, albeit a minor one. The Amazin’s signed infielder Jake Hager to a minor league deal.
Hager was Tampa Bay’s first round pick in 2011.
