Carlos Gomez is back.
The Mets have offered the outfielder a minor league deal to bring him back to the organization where he started his career.
Carlos Gomez was traded for Johan Santana in 2008 and nearly re-acquired for Wilmer Flores In 2015. You may remember. Wilmer Flores crying. Yoenis Céspedes’ unreal summer.
Well, Gomez has returned.
No trade rumors or tears though. Just a minor league depth signing of a 33 year old outfielder, who is on the decline but still has some speed.
Gomez, 33, hit .208/.298/.336 in 118 games for the Rays last season.
