The Mets have signed Matt den Dekker to a minor league deal Thursday.
I selected the picture of Matt in a Las Vegas hat because that’s where he’s headed (barring something catastrophic.)
Kinda interesting news. Den Dekker was drafted by the Mets in the fifth round of the 2010 draft and was then traded to the Nationals in 2015 in exchange for left handed reliever Jerry Blevins. Now, heading into the 2018 season, Den Dekker returns to provide us with some organizational outfield depth. Even if Den Dekker is a non factor upon his return, Blevins has been awesome for us, so good job Sandy.
This news comes on the heels of the Mets dealing infielder Matt Reynolds to the Nationals Monday.
