The Mets dodged a bullet (potentially) when Jacob deGrom’s MRI came back negative today.
The bullpen may be taking a hit.
The Mets announced today that they would be placing both Jared Hughes and Brad Brach on the Injured List.
Neither Hughes or Brach have reported to camp yet. Furthermore, the Mets declined to offer any details.
Is it arm troubles? Is it related to Covid19? We don’t know, but will certainly keep our eyes and ears open.
NOTE: Teams cannot release information about anything virus-related without consent from the player. Additionally, if a player is placed on the Injured List due to the virus, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the player tested positive. They could have been exposed to someone who has tested positive or they may have virus-related symptoms.
