This Will Be A Short Recap -April 28, 2018

Steven Matz and Zack Wheeler have been hit or miss.

Matt Harvey has been so bad that he was shipped off to the bullpen.

So, after missing almost the entire first month of the season, the Mets hoped their one off-season starting pitching acquisition could provide some stability to the rotation.

Jason Vargas allowed 9 runs on 9 hits over
3²/³. He walked 3, struck out 5, and allowed 2 home runs.

The Mets had no offense to speak of last night. Yoenis Cespedes did hit a homerun in a garbage can though, which accounted for all of their runs last night.

The Mets lost 12-2. Seth Lugo was bad again in relief, and I’m officially concerned.

I don’t see Terry Collins, but Michael Conforto is still sitting a few times a week.

Juan Lagares robbed a homerun.

Mets hope to win the series with Zack Wheeler on the mound in the finale. He’ll be opposed by Padres’ righty Bryan Mitchell.
